"This was my second time hiring the crew within a 3 year period. They have gotten pricier over time but still economical compared to the other outrageously priced companies. Sean and crew showed up promptly. My move took 7 hours and 2 trips instead of the anticipated one trip 4 hours. They completed the job without any complaints and a skip in their steps. However if you need to move regular furniture within the city they will do an amazing job. I highly recommend."
You shouldn't have to call just to learn a price or how the day runs. These are the questions our office hears every week, answered the same way we'd answer them on the phone.
Price and Booking
What does a move cost?
Two movers and a truck run $165/hr ($225 for three), with a two-hour minimum Monday through Thursday and three hours Friday to Sunday. Most studios land at $495–$640 and two-bedrooms at $940–$1,350, quoted as a written band before the date. The $100 deposit comes off the final bill.
Is the written quote really the final price?
It is. We count stairs, long carries, and heavy pieces when we quote, so the number you sign is the number you pay. If your inventory changes, we re-quote before the day, not after it.
How far ahead should I book?
A week covers most dates. End of month and Saturdays go first, and same-week slots open up all the time. Call the office and we'll tell you straight what the board looks like.
Move Day
Do you run your own trucks, or hand moves off?
Our own, always. Four trucks out of San Leandro with eight uniformed movers on W-2 payroll. Nobody else ever touches your job, and the crew page tells you who's coming.
Do you handle pianos and hot tubs?
Yes. Pianos from $350, hot tubs from $425, with the boards, straps, and dollies already on the truck. Details sit on the hot tub page.
Do I need to be there the whole time?
For the walkthrough at the start and the walkthrough at the end, yes. In between, most customers go get lunch and answer the occasional text.
Coverage and Claims
What if something gets damaged?
Every load carries released-value coverage at $0.60 per pound, and you can add full-value protection for 1–3% of the declared value. You have nine months to file a claim, and cargo coverage runs up to $1,000,000 per shipment.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. California household-goods registration plus interstate authority on file, and your building gets our certificate of insurance on request. That's the paperwork every legit moving company in Oakland should show you without being asked twice.
Questions Nobody Asks but Should
Who exactly shows up at my door?
The morning text names your crew: two or three of our eight payroll movers, with a crew chief in charge. No day labor, no subcontractors, no strangers.
What happens if the truck breaks down?
We run four trucks for exactly this reason. A breakdown means a transfer to a second truck with the same crew, and your delivery window holds.
